Edo State sports circles have been thrown into mourning following the news of the death of a former Youths and Sports Commissioner in the state, Hon. Presley Egbe Ediagbonya.

Mourning the late Ediagbonya, the Edo State Football Association said on Monday that it received the news of his death “with deep shock.”

While commiserating with members of Ediagbonya’s family, as well as the people of Ovia North East and Edo State Government, the Association described the death as a great loss.

It said in a statement signed by its Chairman, Hon. Amb. Henry Osaro Asemota: “It is very unfortunate that a man like Hon. Presley Ediagbonya has been lost, whose wealth of political experience would have helped further to move the state forward not only in Edo state but in the country at large.”

“Our thoughts and prayers go to the members of the immediate family of this great and illustrious son of Ovia North East Local Government, Ovia Federal Constituency, Edo south Senatorial District, and Edo State at large,” Edo FA said.

The late Ediagbonya was at various times Deputy Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Council, and Commissioner for Youths and Sports.
