Akwa United goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo is keeping his hopes at a premium despite enjoying an impressive campaign with his club in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Promise Keepers are in the hunt for the NPFL title and also a top-three finish should the title race slip out of their hand, and Olorunleke has called for "focus, hard work and discipline" in the run-in of the campaign.
The Akwa United stopper is also in the running for the gloves this term with 12 clean sheets, one behind Nasarawa United's Suraj Ayeleso. However he prefers to keep things modest since nothing has been won or lost.
The former Giwa FC and Sunshine Stars man is not keen on setting himself a target for the remaining campaign but wants to help his club finish as high as possible in the ranking."
My plan is just to keep working hard and ensure I stop all attempts that come my way. But it could only be achieved with the help of God and my teammates," he said to supersport.com.
Olorunleke also believes that Akwa United need a "perfect attitude" to stay within touching distance of the league leaders and hope to play their way into serious contention with six rounds of matches to end the season."
We just need to remain focused, work hard and be discipline. Discipline in the sense that we shouldn't allow our success so far to get into our heads as a team and as individuals. There are still games to play so nothing has been won yet," Olorunleke said.
