The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up by one spot in the latest rankings released by FIFA. They are now 62nd in the World, and 11th in Africa, according to the rankings just released in Zurich, Switzerland, by the world football governing body.
This is against the 63rd Position Nigeria got in February 2016, and this should be a booster for the Super Eagles, as they prepare to face Egypt later this month in the AFCON double header.
Cape Verde Island has displaced Cote d’Ivoire to get first place in Africa, as the latest rankings show. The top 12 in Africa now are Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Egypt, Congo DR, Congo, Cameroon, Nigeria and Guinea.
On the world stage, the most impressive movers for the FIFA rankings are Armenia and Venezuela. Armenia made their biggest climb ever, by 7 places, and Venezuela got a six-place climb, to 75th position. Belgium however remains number one in the world.
