Former General Manager of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso, Mr Rollanson Odeh, has dismissed rumours that he was sacked.
Speaking from his new base, Benin City, the Edo-born coach and administrator recently appointed Technical Manager of Edo Queens, said: “I was neither sacked nor foresaw my sack looming. I also did not dump the Ajilete Warriors as some sections of the public are speculating.
“The Executive Governor of the state, His Excellency Governor Seyi Mankinde, said when he hosted Shooting Stars Sports Club, Crown Football Club and other stakeholders in his office that he was not going to sack anybody irrespective of how one came on board; that all he needed was professionalism. I still have the audio clip. Who then sacked me as being rumoured?
“It was a very difficult decision for me. I had to weigh my options after over three weeks before coming to such a conclusion.
“Tears rolled down my eyes when I saw members of the Ajilete Warriors family weeping on the day I told them about my resignation.
“It’s always good to be good. But it’s a call to serve the good people of Edo State. You see, when prominent personalities are telling you to come and contribute your quota to making things work professionally and as desired, you have to bless God for such grace and honour.
“It’s the grace of God that found me out of thousands of administrative gurus in the nation. I feel honoured. Crown FC is a good side that any good coach or administrator will want to be.
The club has always been an avenue to project people for greatness, if you work sincerely with utmost dedication and all sense of loyalty.
“The records are there for anyone to check. There was massive change starting from the attitude of the entire Ajilete Warriors family.
“Check the administrative structure of the club. There is a general change in all the departments in terms of personnel and performance.
“That’s not to say I’m the best but I have laid a very good foundation which I believe whoever comes on board, if followed, will benefit the team greatly.
“See Coach Fatai Osho of Enyimba FC. Being in Crown FC really brought him to limelight. All you need do is work effectively and efficiently while on ground and the sky is your stepping stone.
“I once again appreciate all the stakeholders that made my stay in the valiant team worthwhile. My appreciation knows no bounds. I see Crown FC playing in the elite division come 2020/2021 season by His grace.”
The new Technical Manager of the Edo Queens was last Thursday officially introduced by the Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon Comrade Phillip Shuaibu, at the Edo State Government House when the team came to present the medals and trophy won at the just-concluded Naija Ratels Preseason Tournament in Makurdi, Benue State, to Governor Godwin Obaseki.
