The newly appointed Acting General Manager of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso, Mr Oyeleye Oyekunle, has assumed office.
The former administrative officer of the club who was announced as the new head for the Ajilete Warriors by the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Seun Fakorede, over the weekend in his office in Ibadan met with the players after the training session on Thursday, February 6, 2020. He later met with other members of staff and spur them to live up to expectations.
Oyekunle appreciated the Oyekale-led technical crew for the good job well done so far and charged the players to keep the spirit high.
“I appreciate you all for the best wishes. I give kudos to Coach Oyekale Oladunni and his crew for the way the team is progressing. I thank the players too for the supports so far. We have a target this season and we must work assiduously to make it a reality.
“The former General Manager, Mr Rollanson Odeh, has laid a good foundation and we will continue in this regard. It will only get better and not the other way round. I just implore us all to be more responsive and focused,” the former Media Officer said.
In his response, the captain of the team, Adejare Sunday Adeniyi, congratulated the new boss on behalf of the players and pledged to support him unflinchingly.
“We bless God for this day. The Lord will guide you and make your tenure more successful. We will support you in all ways possible to make our promotion target a reality,” the skipper said.
Oyekunle also served as Acting General Manager of the Ajilete Warriors in 2014/2015 season.
He equally took charge in 2015/2016 season where he saw the Ajilete Warriors play in the Semi Final stage of the then Federation Cup now Aiteo Cup, the first in the history of the club and a feat yet to be broken in the last fifteen years by any South West team.
