Lagos went agog yesterday, Tuesday, December 24, 2019, as the Super Eagles Supporters Club stormed the Campus Mini Stadium, Lagos, to support FC Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala during this year’s edition of annual Asisat Oshoala Football4Girls Clinic of her pet project, Asisat Oshoala Foundation.
Flanked by other top executives of the club from across Nigeria, National President, Prince Okumagba, represented by his Personal Assistant, Mr. Alao Emiloju, said they were in Lagos to celebrate with the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations winner on her foundation to help young ladies in football.
Okumagba noted that the project will go a long way in assisting the Super Falcons and other national teams as players will be discovered, adding that hope will once again return to that little girl on the streets of Lagos.
“This is a very good project by Nigeria’s queen of football. As you can see, young girls look forward to the event. Players are being discovered yearly and with this the national teams can be rest assured of greater things to come for Nigeria women football,” he said.
The event was sponsored by a Patron of the Supporters Club, Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, General Overseer Love of Christ Ministry, who doubled as the mother of the day.
The event was graced by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, who was the Special Guest of Honour; and NFF First Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, amongst others.
One of the novelty matches saw the Asisat Oshoala Foundation beat FC Robo 3-1 after extra time.
Celebrities had their turn to take to the field as Team Naija Celebrities played against Team Naija Footballers.
