Fidelity Bank Emerge 2019 Nigeria Bankers Games Champions

By Daily Sports on December 3, 2019

Fidelity Bank has emerged champions of the 2019 Nigeria Bankers Games. The top lender also made it a double by emerging best in the overall medals table at the end of the games.

To become champions, Fidelity Bank vanquished a hard-fighting United Bank for Africa (UBA) in a nerve-wracking final in Lagos on Sunday, December 2, that had everybody sitting on the edge of their seats.

The Nnamdi Okonkwo boys drew the first blood, converting from a well-taken throw-in. The lead was however short lived as the Tony Elumelu boys benefited from a defensive mix-up to score the equaliser. From then on, it became a ding-dong affair with neither of the teams giving anything away. That was the situation till the end of regulation time.

Then the dreaded penalty shoot-out! Fidelity Bank players kept their nerves and scored all their five kicks to take away with the coveted cup for the fourth time.
