The Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development in Ondo State, Barrister Dotun Owanikin, has admonished Sunshine Stars to have a successful 2019/20 campaign and earn a return to the continent in line with the dream of the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu administration.

Owanikin, who was led to the team’s camp by Club President, Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi, ahead of the match day two tie with visiting Warri Wolves yesterday (Sunday) at the Ondo State Sports Complex, reassured them of the State Government’s continuous support and urged the players to do the state proud this season.

“We appreciate you for your level of commitment, I tell you, that and passion will take us to greater heights.

“Now the Aketi Government wants you to do well this season; go all out and secure continental ticket for us,” the Commissioner urged.

The Commissioner also expressed appreciation to Akinyemi and the entire Sunshine Stars management for all their efforts towards making the Owena Whales a better team during the Saturday’s visit to the players’ base.

Akinyemi thanked Owanikin in return for his support and solidarity with the board, before reiterating the management readiness to keep the group happy by meeting up with their needs always.

Club coach Kabiru Dogo and captain, Sunday Abe thanked the State Government and management for making the team well-being a priority from last season and both promised to deliver on what is expected of Sunshine Stars in the 2019/20 season.
