Salah Hits Back At Critics Ahead Of City Clash

By Daily Sports on November 9, 2019

Mo Salah has hit back at recent criticism from former Liverpool great Phil Thompson, who said his form was a “concern” for the Reds.

Thompson feels the club is managing an ankle injury sustained against Leicester City and that it is hindering Salah’s performances.

It is a concern. The ankle injury that he had, it’s just that push off the mark. It doesn’t look as though he’s free-flowing,” Thompson told Sky Sport.

“He’s just not getting away from people as you have seen that burst of speed. He’s getting away, but it’s only within tackling distance.

But Salah has hit back, saying all he cares about is the team winning and his own form is secondary.

“To be honest, I don’t care what people expect from me,” Salah was quoted in the Metro.

“As much as the team is winning and scoring goals it’s fine. I don’t have to care what people expect from me because that puts more pressure on you and makes you not perform good. I’m just doing what I want to do and I feel happy about it.”

Salah will no doubt be key against when Liverpool host Manchester City for a top-of-the-table English Premier League clash on Sunday. (African Football)
