By Daily Sports on October 6, 2019

The stage is set, as 16 football clubs are ready to perfect the upcoming 2019/2020 football season with the third edition of the prestigious Ahlan Preseason Tournament.

The tournament, which will last for eight days, will kick off today, Sunday, October 6, 2019, and end on October 13.

Tournament hosts, Kano State FA, have put everything in place for a successful event at the two venues: Sani Abacha Stadium and Kano Pillars Stadium.

According to the General Coordinator of the tournament, Barrister Isaac Danladi, Organisers are hoping to make the third edition a bumper one, following the successes recorded in the past.

“We are hoping to build on the gains of the past tournaments,” the highly experienced administrator said.

“Sixteen teams have already signified interests to be part of the competition in Kano. Teams from neighbouring countries have signified interests and it promises to be a bumper tournament.”

Barrister Isaac Danladi stated that #AhlanCup19 would be an interesting tournament.

“The competition,” he said, “will bring teams together in Nigeria and neighbouring countries. It is going to be an action packed event full of entertainment and spectacle.

“The plan of the organiSers is to make fans and teams win prizes on match days. It will be very unique. The experience will be very good. People will have fun. It will be like a carnival type thing. At the end of the day people will be glad to be part of AhlanCup2019.”

Kano Pillars won the last edition of Ahlan Cup.
