Galatasaray seek deals to fund Osimhen transfer

By Daily Sports Nigeria on December 30, 2024

Galatasaray are working on two lucrative sponsorship deals from China as the club look to fund a transfer for Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has thrived since signing on loan for the Turkish Süper Lig champions, where he has scored 12 times in 15 appearances.

Having been frozen out at Napoli, Osimhen completed a shock switch to Istanbul after talks with Chelsea and Al-Ahli broke down in the summer window.

The Nigeria international is enjoying his football at Galatasaray and is open to a permanent move. However, a €75m release clause in his contract makes a move unfeasible as things stand. Galatasaray’s current transfer record is the €18m fee parted with to sign Gabriel Sara from Norwich City last summer.

Turking outlet Fanatik have claimed Galatasaray are working behind the scenes to raise funds for an improbable deal.

Two lucrative sponsorship deals from China are being lined up as the Turkish side look to see off competition from Manchester United to sign the striker. Chelsea could also renew their interest after the breakdown in negotiations in the summer.

Manchester United are reported as Galatasaray’s biggest rivals in their bid to get a deal done, as the Red Devils look to make a statement signing under new head coach Ruben Amorim.

With Rasmus Hojliund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling for goals, Osimhen is viewed as an attainable marquee addition to reviving the club’s fortunes.

Ironically, both teams are also named as suitors of Randal Kolo Muani in January. Paris Saint-Germain are keen to offload the France international next month and both Galatasaray and Manchester United are open to a deal.
