The management of El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri has retain the services of 15 out of the 35 players that played for the Borno State Government-owned outfit during the just out-gone season.

This was disclosed by the club’s chairman, Alhaji Mala Zannah Kakaje, through the Media Manager, Prince Anthony Obaseki, who said: “You see, we have retained 15 players and asked others to look somewhere. We thank the players for their contributions to the club and we wish them well anywhere they go.”

He disclosed that the team is going to register 25 players for the new season. “That is the order of the State Government, so that is why we are going for top 10 players in the league,” Obaseki said.

“I want to thank the State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, for all his support to the team, the Sports Ministry and the good people of the state for their love for the club. By the grace of God they are going to see a brand new El-Kanemi Warriors next season,” he added.
