Chairman of Enyimba FC, Felix Anyansi Agwu, has thumbed up the organisation of this year’s Glo Premier League and says there is glimmer of hope for n improved league in future.
According to him there are strong indices showing the potency of the championship as the League Management Committee has shown much clout to inject new innovations into it and it has started to manifest.
“It will be growing strongly and the country will be the better for it. Thing better will come and there is no going back about it. The consolidation of how our league work be ranked amongst one of the strongest and the best in Africa would be met. Again it will checkmate the exodus of our players as it will come with it enhance players salary and others benefits accruing with it,” he envisaged.
Anyansi Agwu also pointed out that the way and manner the organisers have carried out disciplinary measures against defaulting team also mark water shed towards achieving a great league of our dream. The future is rosy and brighter. There is no body that would stand between this moving train and survive it. The truth he said is that teams have braced up and will getter fall in line with also we soldier on. The best thing l have insisted that would happen to the country is building a strong and reliable league that would be independently funded. We are getting there,” he said.
On Enyimba’s efforts to come back to the top of the league after some years, the seasoned administrator said the team has all it takes to be where they are right now. He said that the Aba based side is never a pretender to the terrain and therefore will not slip when the chips are down.
“The people’s elephant has the depth to reclaim their position in the league. From the players to the technical crew headed by veteran of many football battles to the management are fortified. To the teeth and so have the clout to go all out? I wish the team good luck. They have stayed on and to tell their numerous fans that they cherish their unflinching support thus would be to present the Nigeria Glo Premier trophy to them. There will be nothing greater and appreciative than just that. The league has reached its dangerous home stretch and the former two time CAF Champions League winners are poised to nip it despite how it looks. Their traditional never say die attitude has been the key and inspiration,” he reveals.
The Chairman of NFF Technical Committee also said that the Abia State government shown lots of solid support to the team and we are working hard to bring the cup to our sports-loving governor, he informs.
