Super Eagles B on Tuesday started the second phase of preparation for their two-legged Africa Nations Championship qualifier against Ghana in December, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The first phase ended on Thursday, with the players released to their clubs ahead of the weekend’s Nigeria Premier Football League matches. They resumed on Tuesday, with 26 players reporting to camp.
The remaining nine players were expected to arrive on Wednesday as the team embarks on a two-week intensive training, whose schedules and arrangements will be made known by the NFF in the coming days.
After the first phase, the team’s interim head coach, Augustine Eguavoen, named a 32-man roster for the second phase, with some of the latest additions including Remo Stars’ goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Suur Kumaga of Lobi Stars, Ossu Martin, experienced winger Bernard Ovoke, Aniekeme Okon, Ubong Friday of Rivers United, and U-23 and Water FC star Dominion Ohaka.
Others are Kano Pillars trio Abiam Nelson, Aminu Adams, and Sudais Alibaba.
All invited players were expected to report to camp for intensive preparations under the tutelage of Fidelis Ikechukwu and Daniel Amokachi while Eguaveon goes on an assignment outside the country.
Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg between 20th-22nd December, 2 to 22, 2024, while the second leg holds in Nigeria a week later.
The winner over two legs will automatically qualify for the 2025 CHAN, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
