France's Kylian Mbappe has revealed that Neymar laughed off his recent run-in with Paris Saint-Germain teammate Edinson Cavani after the pair clashed during Friday's friendly match between Brazil and Uruguay.
Cavani was booked for fouling Neymar during Brazil's 1-0 win at London's Emirates stadium, the Brazilian then largely rejected the Uruguayan's attempt to help him back to his feet and Cavani tossed him the ball.
Cavani played down the clash after the game by saying that "things happen on the pitch that raise the temperature, but we reflect after the match and things go back to normal," while Neymar asked: "What did [Cavani] say? He said nothing. Either that, or I did not hear what he said."
Mbappe also said there was no enmity between his two main strike partners at club level after he got in contact with Neymar."Edinson is always up for the game, so there is no need to give him extra motivation for matches," the 19-year-old told reporters while with the France squad. "He is a great player and having him with us at PSG does us a lot of good.
"I sent Neymar a video of his clash with Edinson via WhatsApp and he just laughed in response, so that says it all. It was nothing, it was a duel and they were defending their countries. They both gave everything, which you have to do when you go for the ball, and contact is a part of the game – that is all.
"This will not stop them from hugging and making up at PSG and then scoring goals together once we are back with PSG. There is no problem."
Neymar and Cavani have had a prickly relationship since the former's arrival from Barcelona for €222 million in the summer of 2017, which came to light early on when the two openly argued over which of them would take a penalty during a Ligue 1 home win over Lyon.
Mbappe was part of a France team that lost 2-0 away to Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League last week and will come up against Cavani at Stade de France on Tuesday when Uruguay pay a visit to the French capital to close 2018, while Neymar's Brazil will face Cameroon in the English town of Milton Keynes.
