Moses Simon confirms Liverpool transfer interest

By Daily Sports on July 14, 2018

Nigeria star Moses Simon has confirmed that Liverpool are interested in signing him.

Simon has scored 21 goals in 136 appearances for Gent since joining the club back in 2015 but the 22-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks.

Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Simon for some time and the forward has emerged as a serious target, with Jurgen Klopp on the hunt for attacking reinforcements ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Nigeria international is being lined up by the Reds to provide competition for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane on Merseyside.

Asked about the rumours, Simon told AOI Football : ‘Well, for now, I’m still a player of KAA Gent; obviously, there was interest from Liverpool but nothing is concrete for now.

‘I’m currently in Holland with the rest of the squad and we are getting ready for the new season.

‘We have a game against PAOK in two days; hopefully, I might play in that one.’

Liverpool have already landed Naby Keita and Fabinho this summer and Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri is on the verge of a move.

The 26-year-old Swiss is set to undergo a medical with the Reds and an official announcement is expected in the coming days.

It’s believed Shaqiri will join Liverpool for a fee of around £12million. (Metro)
