Pep Guardiola CONVINCED Patrick Vieira is ready to manage Arsenal

Pep Guardiola is convinced Patrick Vieira is ready to manage at the highest level.

Vieira has been linked with the Arsenal job after Arsene Wenger stunned the world of football by announcing his decision to quit the Emirates at the end of the season.

Gunners’ golden boy Thierry Henry, who is currently Belgium assistant coach, is also in the frame to replace his old boss.

But Manchester City boss Guardiola believes Vieira is ready for the step-up into the big time of Premier League management.

Vieira has all the playing credentials to impress any owner wanting to give him the manager’s job.

He’s highly respected as head coach of New York City and won rave notices for a supremely successful spell at Arsenal from 1996 to 2005 where he became club captain and won three Premier League titles four FA Cups.

Vieira spent two seasons at the current English champions where he retired in 2011 after adding another FA Cup winners’ medal.

Guardiola said: “He is already a top manager. With what has happened there will be a lot of names there. Arsenal will take the best decision for them.

“But of course he is ready. I think all the names will get mentioned and all of them are ready.”
