Barau, based in Kano, sit 13th on the table with 34 points and have steadily moved away from relegation danger during their recent run. They played out a goalless draw with Warri Wolves last weekend to extend their unbeaten streak.

Head coach Eugene Agagbe said his side are determined to continue their momentum in Port Harcourt.

“It’s not easy to go seven matches unbeaten in the NPFL,” he told the club’s media channel.

“Our focus has now shifted to Rivers United because we are taking it one match at a time.”

With Rivers United chasing the title and Barau aiming to prolong their resurgence, Wednesday’s encounter is expected to be closely contested under the Port Harcourt lights.
