Ezenwa resumes training after CHAN injury

By Daily Sports on February 14, 2018

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has been handed a major boost ahead of next month’s international friendlies against Poland and Serbia with the return of Ikechukwu Ezenwa to training.

The Eagles will take on Poland and Serbia on March 23 and March 27 respectively.

Ezenwa suffered a knee injury while on international duty with Nigeria at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco. He revealed that he is working hard to be fit for club and country.

“I have started training with my personal fitness trainer and I hope to get back on the pitch before the end of the month,” Ezenwa told Completesportsnigeria.

Ezenwa has been the Super Eagles first choice since he replaced Daniel Akpeyi last year.

The Enyimba goalkeeper has made six international appearances for the main Super Eagles team, conceding two goals.

Nigeria will face Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
