By Daily Sports on January 6, 2018

Remo Stars have confirmed their star forward Victor Mbaoma has joined Akwa United on loan for the 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The Sky Blue Stars who will play in the Nigeria National League next season following their relegation last term had earlier agreed a loan deal with MFM FC of Lagos for the striker but the move broke down over terms of the transfer.

Mbaoma scored 10 goals for the Sagamu-based club last season in the NPFL.

Akwa United, who won the Aiteo Federation Cup last season, will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup for the second time.

Remo Stars also confirmed that five of their players have joined FC IfeanyiUbah, Sunshine Stars and Rivers United on loan.

Midfielder Salefu Ochowechi and Ganda Samuel will spend next season with Rivers United, Chidume Victor and Awazie Ekene will feature for FC IfeanyiUbah, while Adebogun Omotayo has joined Sunshine Stars.
