NPFL hotshot, Anthony Okpotu has said that the home-based Super Eagles hope to make history by winning a first-ever CHAN in Morocco.
Nigeria have yet to win the CHAN after they finished third on their debut in 2014 and failed to go past the group stage two years later.
“The coach has impacted a winning mentality and belief in the team and we will be in Morocco to give our best and win the tournament,” Okpotu told SCORENigeria
The Lobi Stars striker netted 19 goals this past season and has continued with such form leading into the new season.
“I have had a very good pre-season first with my club. I’m in very good shape and I just need to take my chances in every match I play,” he said of his red-hot form.
“I Hope to improve on what I did last season, if I’m still in the league come next season.
“There are offers, but I wish to first concentrate on the CHAN, whatever comes along the way and I will take a look at it.”
The striker has previously played with Libyan champions Al Ittihad.
