Tyson Fury came out of the woodwork on Tuesday to let WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder that he’s coming for him, and he’s going to be looking to “obliterate” him when they do face each other.
Fury, the former IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion, has been out of action for 2 years with his problems.
Fury wants to get his boxing license back with the UK Anti-Doping committee and British Boxing Board of Control, and resume his career.
“Guess whose back? The one and only,” said Fury on his Instagram. “Shout out to Bronze Bomber, Deontay Wilder, giving me motivation, telling me I can’t do it and I’m finished. I’m coming back for you, baby. I’m coming back for you. I’m going to fulfill that promise I gave to you a few years ago. You know what I’m talking about,” said Fury.
Wilder and IBF/WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua are Fury’s immediate targets when he’s ready to take on the big dogs in the division. In the short term, Fury will likely be looking to take 2 or 3 easy tune-up bouts against 3rd tier opposition.
” I’m coming back for the stick man,” said Fury to Wilder. ”The man is struggling with a midget. What will it be like when he’s in with the Gypsy king, 6’9”, 18 ½ stone, and fast? I’ll obliterate you,” said Fury.
Wilder is expected to defend his WBC title this Saturday night against the 6’2” Bermane Stiverne in a rematch on Showtime Championship Boxing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
