Porto pushing for Awaziem’s contract extension

By Daily Sports on October 26, 2017

FC Porto are looking into extending the contract of on loan defender Chidozie Awaziem who has cemented his spot in the first team of French Ligue 1 side Nantes.

Awaziem scored last weekend in their 2-1 win over Guingamp which see them move to third on the Ligue 1 table, and his form has already caught the interest of French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon.

Porto gave Awaziem a fresh five year deal two years ago with a buyout clause of £20m, and with the 20 year old set to represent Nigeria at the World Cup, Porto are keen on increasing his contract at the club with a fresh buy out clause.

”Talks have not started yet on a new deal, but there have been contact over it. For now he is concentrating on his team Nantes until the end of season when his loan deal expires”, Babawo Mohammed the agent of the defender told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”No doubt some clubs have been in touch but I won’t mention names for now, because Nantes have the option to buy him after this season although the transfer fee for his transfer is yet to be negotiated “.
