The sports-loving Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, is a happy man to have signed on Super Eagles Assistant Coach lmama Amakapabo as the new Technical Adviser to the state own club, El-Kanemi Warriors.
The Governor expressed delight after the Coach was unveil at the Sports Commissioner’s office and later invited him to the Government House for a reception.
He told the coach that he was happy, having followed his records in the game and thanked the chairman of the club, Alhaji Zanna Mala Kakaje, for ensuring that the coach joined the Maiduguri based side.
“We are proud of you Alhaji Zanna for this great work you have been doing for the state in the past years as Chairman of the club.
“I’m happy, having you as our new Technical Adviser. I’m very happy for a man from the South-south to agree to come and coach our club.
“With your action and the love you have shown by coming here, am giving you this car as a personal gift and I assure you anything you want to do your job is fully ready.
“All the way from Okrika Rivers State, South-South to North-East, am happy for the love you have for the club and for coming, this car is for you not official car take home to your family in Port Harcourt. It is yours as your official car will come, this is my gift to you for accepting to come and work here.
Responding, Coach Imama thanked the Governor for the gift and promised that all hands must work together.
“I had looked up to today to have a hand shake with you for all you have been doing for the state and the team but you just surprised me, my Governor. I am short of words.
“May the good Lord bless you and your family even the club that I win the NPFL. I am very grateful, Sir,” he said.
