Nigeria goalkeeper and skipper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has promised the Super Eagles will be at their best in Sunday’s WAFU Cup final in Cape Coast and he also hopes for another clean sheet.
Ezenwa kept his fourth straight clean sheet at the sub-regional tournament as Nigeria pip Benin 1-0 to zoom into the championship game.
The FC Ifeanyiubah shot stopper declared: “We will keep our focus. We are ready to do our best in the final.
“By the grace of God I hope not to concede in the final.”
Coach Salisu Yusuf again maintained that what was paramount was to win and qualify for the final.
“We are happy to be in the final no matter the level of competition and we want to now see how we can be champions,” he said.
“We knew this match against Benin will be tougher than that of Ghana because Benin they wanted revenge after we stopped them in the CHAN qualifiers.
“The most important thing is that we needed to win to be in the final. We did not have to win 10-0 to be in the final or play fine football. We just needed to win.” (SCORENigeria)
