Wikki Tourists captain and right back, Mustapha Ibrahim has said his side are ever ready to successfully complete the work they started on Saturday at top-flights, Gombe United.
The top-flight final day matchday 38 clash at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe between the neighbours, Gombe United and Wikki Tourists ended abruptly in the 27th minute due to crowd invasion of the pitch with the visitors leading through an own goal scored by Morris Chigozie in the 23rd minute.
The league body, League Management Company (LMC) ruled on Wednesday that the match be completed at the El Kanemi Warriors Stadium in Maiduguri behind closed door commencing from the 27th minute as well as the score line as at the time the game was disrupted.
Ibrahim said his side have been somehow cautious to celebrate their victory and escape from relegation after the match ended in crisis cocksure that the league body is most likely going to react on the inconclusive clash.
“We are back to camp and have even commenced training for the completion of the final day clash at Gombe United now in Maiduguri.
“Something has been telling us that LMC will come up with a decision over the match since it ended in a crisis.
“We have been too careful to go full swing to celebrate the victory as well as survival from the drop.
“So we were not taken aback by the LMC decision but remain in high spirit to complete the work we started on Saturday in Gombe,” he said.
Win or lose Gombe United are already demoted to the lower league while a win or draw will be sufficient to keep Wikki Tourists in the top-flight.
The game is somehow generating apprehension, deep concern and interest in the camp of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) though technically relegated but a loss by the Bauchi side will once again keep them in the top-flight on superior goals while Wikki Tourists will go down on relegation. © supersport.com
