By Daily Sports on September 4, 2017

Nigeria remained on course for a ticket to the Russia 2018 World Cup in Russia when the hard-fighting Super Eagles on Monday night battled to a pulsating 1-1 against Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Yaounde.

The visitors opened scoring in the 30th minute when Victor Moses drove a low cross into the box, which a lurking Moses Simon left-footed into the far corner of the net.

The first half ended on that note and all efforts by the hosts to equlaise were frustrated until the 75th minute when Aboubakar coolly converted a penalty awarded against goalie Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who was adjudged to have fouled an ion-rushing Djoum

The Super Eagles had last Friday pummelled the Cameroonians 4-0 in the first leg fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
