AITEO Cup: Okpotu, Eduwo Fire Lobi Stars Past Katsina United

Lobi Stars have booked their place in the round of 32 of the 2017 AITEO Cup following their 2-0 win against Katsina United in a rescheduled game at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi on Tuesday.

A goal in each half from hat-trick hero for Lobi in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday, Anthony Okpotu, and home-based Super Eagles star Kingsley Eduwo secured Lobi’s passage into the next round.

Okpotu, who is second on the NPFL scorers chart with 17 goals, gave Lobi the lead before Eduwo who was on target for the home-based Eagles in their win against Benin Republic on Saturday in the CHAN qualifier sealed the win with the second goal.

Lobi will now face Ngwa FC in the round of 32 of the AITEO Cup.Two remaining rescheduled games of the AITEO Cup will hold on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Wednesday, Adamawa United will host Cynosure FC in Yola, while on Thursday, in Damaturu, NPFL heavyweights Kano Pillars will be guests to Yobe Desert Stars.
