Chinedu Obasi barely came off his flight from his former base in China before he scored for Swedish club AIK Solna in a UEFA Europa League qualifier at Sporting Braga Thursday night.
Obasi hit target after 13 minutes to open his goals’ account for AIK on his second spell with Sweden’s most popular club after one training session with them in Portugal.
The jet-lagged forward will later be replaced in the 68th minute.
His effort was later cancelled in the 74th minute.
Aggregate scores stood at 2-2 as the first leg in Sweden also finished 1-1.
The home team eventually snatched victory late in the second half of extra-time.
The former Schalke 04 star has signed a contract with AIK till end of the season after he parted ways with Chinese second division side Shenzhen FC by mutual consent before the expiration of his contract in December.
