Nigeria striker Anthony Nwakaeme has continued his scoring streak in Europe with yet another goal as his Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheva beat Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad 2-0 in the Uefa Champions League on Wednesday.
Beer Sheva had earlier dispatched Hungarian side Budapest Honved in the previous round with Nwakaeme scoring a brace in the second leg of that tie to help his side to 5-3 aggregate win.He continued that fine form into the first leg of the third round of qualifiers for the Uefa Champions League with yet another goal.
The Nigerian put Beer Sheva ahead on 19 minutes before Michael Ohana made it 2-0 with 11 minutes left to seal the win for the Israeli champions.
Nwakaeme’s compatriot at the club John Ogu also put in a fine performance for Beer Sheva and lasted the entirety of the game.
Both players were instrumental in Beer Sheva’s title triumph last season and will be looked upon to help their team qualify for the group stage of the Champions League after their impressive showing in last season’s Uefa Europa Cup. © supersport.com
