The Winners Golden Bet-SWAN Cup Committee led by Debo Oshundun has announced today, Friday, August 4, as the official draws and unveiling of sponsors and partners for the 2017 edition.
Rising from a meeting yesterday, the committee said after due diligence and wide consultations with all stakeholders, the draws for the WGB-Lagos SWAN cup will start by noon at the association’s secretariat situated inside the mainbowl of the National stadium.
“We are pleased to inform you that arrangements are in top gear to ensure a hitch-free, resounding successful event but your full cooperation and participation is highly required to achieve this,” Oshundun said.
According to the Committee Chairman, the SWAN Cup will kick off on Friday, August 11 with a novelty match between SWAN Ladies and PMAN Female Musicians and close on August 18 with another friendly between SWAN Editors/Veterans and Friends United by Sports.
“We are impressed with the enthusiasm shown so far by affiliated media organizations and our members. The turnout this year has been encouraging and we are looking forward to the best WGB-Lagos SWAN cup in many years.”
He encouraged other Lagos State-based media organisations under the SWAN umbrella to explore the window of opportunities still available between now and Friday morning to procure their forms at the secretariat.
The WGB-Lagos SWAN Cup will be played at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium.
As part of the weeklong activities, a special lecture on “Strategies for the revival and growth of Nigeria sports” has been slated for Wednesday, August 16, with the founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the League Management Company, Hon. Nduka Irabor as Guest Lecturer.
