Chidozie Awaziem in fresh cntroversies

By Daily Sports on July 26, 2017

A fresh controversy is raging around Chidozie Awaziem after he missed several days training with officials admitting the defender may have had some breathing problems.

Awaziem courted controversy when he was a shock starter for the Super Eagles ahead of the more experienced Kenneth Omeruo in last month’s AFCON home loss to South Africa.

There were wide-spread allegations he had to play an official game for Nigeria before he could seal a loan switch from FC Porto second team to French Ligue 1 side Nantes.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Awaziem “disappeared” soon after his medical and was not seen for many days in training at his new French club.

Officials have tried to be discreet about the situation, but later told the player’s teammates Awaziem suffered some breathing problems.

He has been named in Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against English Championship side Hull City, but the highly respected newspaper also reported that rumours around the player persist.
