Oboabona hit with ‘dubious’ allegations after $1 million transfer to Saudi Arabia

By Daily Sports on July 23, 2017

Nigeria defender Godfrey Oboabona has been hit with allegations that he was “dubious” over his transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli, which will fetch him a million US dollars in the first year.

Oboabona moved to Saudi Arabia a free agent after his contract with relegated Turkish club Rizespor ran out.

It has now been alleged that Oboabona signed at the back of the agent, former Super Eagles star Benji Nzeakor, who originally brought him the deal.

“Oboabana went behind us and signed the contract without our knowledge. How amazingly dubious Oboabana was that he even spoke to my partner about a possible move to England moments after signing the dotted lines with the Saudi club at their pre-season training camp in Austria,” alleged Ikenwa Nnabuogor.

“Ahli wanted him badly and contacted my partner (Nzeakor), who in turn messaged me that I must get the former Sunshine Stars player.“

Oboabana, in the typical Nigerian player’s silly manners, was always reluctant to cooperate with us totally as we negotiated the deal. We never had the inkling that he had some sinister intentions up his sleeves.

“Personal terms were negotiated, but Oboabana said he was not accepting the offer. We kept talking to him, even proposing a possible move to England the same day he penned the contract with Ahli totally unknown to us.”

He continued: “It was shocking to read in the news that Oboabana had signed the contract with another agent who knew nothing about the deal. Could he be this heartless and inconsiderate?“

I rang him as soon as I read it on the internet, but he didn’t answer. He blocked me on Facebook after I sought the channel to reach him.

“It’s so disappointing that Oboabana could act in such manner to deny his fellow human beings their sweat.“

Let God judge in this case. I leave the whole thing to God. I leave Oboabana and God in this matter.” (SCORENigeria)
