Coach John Obuh has said Kwara United are on the cusp of a return to the top flight in Nigeria as they head their section of the Nigeria National League (NNL) going into the business end of the campaign.
Kwara’s promotion hopes were boosted with a win at Adamawa United last weekend and today, they face Mighty Jets in Jos knowing the outcome of this clash will go a long way to define their season.
Obuh has previously guided ‘The Afonja Warriors’ back to the top league and he was bullish of their chances again after the win at Adamawa United Sunday.
“It was a great victory and wonderful away points. This victory has taken us closer to our target which is to gain promotion to the elite league,” he told SCORENigeria
“My greatest surprise was that the home fans cheered us because we played good football.”
He said he now hopes for a result in Jos today against Mighty Jets, who are also chasing promotion after some recent wins.
“We are in Jos for the three points or at least a point,” he declared.
“My boys know what is at stake and we will give the host team a good match because the boys are ready to give their best. “
