Still sitting ninth on the latest Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) ranking are Nasarawa United as they lead three other teams sharing 38 points, based on goal difference. But with 10 more matches to the end of the season, coach of the Lafia-based side, Kabiru Dogo has not given up on the prospect of sliding into the top-four despite being five points adrift at the moment.
Dogo was speaking to npfl.ng after watching his side lose 2-0 to Abia Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium last Sunday and he insisted on the unpredictability of the league, adding that they will continue to fight till the end.
“As far as the league is concerned, nobody has been given the trophy as champions. Nobody has been given the ticket for relegation. So the struggle continues.“
The league can go any other way. Forget that Plateau (United) are leading. It is football, anything can change so you cannot predict. All of us are fighting. At the end, we will see where the fighting will take us to, but I believe that by God’s grace we are going to finish in a respectable position,” he asserted.
