By Daily Sports on June 27, 2017

Jose Mourinho’s father, Felix has passed away. He was 79.

Manchester United broke the news of the death on their website today as they offered condolences for their manager who became their coach last summer.

“Everyone at Manchester United is extending sincere condolences to Jose Mourinho and his family, following confirmation that the manager’s father, Felix, has passed away.

“Felix was a former professional goalkeeper for Vitoria Setubal and Belenenses, and he represented his country, Portugal, on one proud occasion before embarking on a coaching career.

“The Portuguese clubs he managed included the two he had played for, as well as Rio Ave and União de Leiria, where his son Jose would later take charge in 2001/02.

“Our thoughts are with Jose and his family at this sad and difficult time”.
