Emiloju urges teammates to respect Sunshine Stars

By Daily Sports on June 24, 2017

MFM's Julius Emiloju demands his side respect Sunshine Stars when they clash in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Wednesday.

The Olukoya Boys defeated the Owena Whales in the reverse fixture at the Akure Township Stadium and they will be targeting a double at the Agege Stadium.

Both sides recorded contrasting results last weekend. MFM lost 3-1 to Kano Pillars, while Sunshine Stars defeated Gombe United 2-1.

Despite the Akure club's below average form in their domestic campaign, Emiloju feels that MFM cannot take them lightly.

"Sunshine Stars have struggled this season. It's a surprise. We know that they are a good team which explains their experience in the league. We have to respect them, but must also have the will to win and cause them a lot of difficulties,'' Emiloju told Goal.

"They like to dominate possession and dictate the game, but we don't know if that is the way they plan to play against us. We want to win. That will be our objective, though. Whoever manages to dominate possession will control the game.

"It is their intention which will shape the game – will they sit deep and wait at the beginning of the match, or try and attack straight away? We have no idea but like I said earlier we are too motivated to drop points at home."
