Wenger thumbs up ‘dynamic’ Arsenal’s

By Daily Sports on May 11, 2017

Arsene Wenger has hailed his Arsenal players after they defeated Southampton 2-0 at the St Mary's on Wednesday night to move into fifth place in the Premier League table.

Second half goals from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud gave the Gunners a crucial win to leapfrog Manchester United who they also beat 2-0 on Sunday.

"We were focused and I felt that when we suffered we stuck together," Wenger told the media in a post match interview session.

"We have another clean sheet and I know we can go forward and score goals.

"The whole team was dynamic, focused and showed a convincing desire to win the game."

Wenger also said he did not know how serious Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's injury was.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been impressive for Arsenal in recent weeks as a right wing-back.

But the England international was forced off in the first half with a hamstring injury.

If serious, the 23-year-old could miss the rest of the season, including the FA Cup final on May 27.

Wenger said: "It's a hamstring injury but we don't know how bad [it is]," Wenger said.
