Enyimba captain Mfon Udoh listed for March LBA

By George Akpayen on April 19, 2017

Enyimba captain Mfon Udoh has been named among the nominees to contend for the League Bloggers Awards (LBA) player of the month for March in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Udoh, who holds the record of scoring the most goals in a single season by an individual, has been nominated to vie for the player’s award on the back of his three goals and one assist for Enyimba in the NPFL in the month under
review.
The Enyimba man will have to fend off the other shortlists in this season’s current leading scorer Stephen Odey, El-Kanemi’s Samuel Mathias and Nasarawa United stopper Suraj Ayeleso for the player for March.

Udoh’s goals fetched the People’s Elephant seven points in March as he scored at ABS FC and in two home fixtures against Rivers United and FC Ifeanyiubah.

However, the manager’s award will have Nasarawa United’s Kabiru Dogo, Abdullahi Biffo of Abia Warriors, Fidelis Ilechukwu of MFM FC and Kadiri Ikhana of Kano Pillars in contention.

Biffo, Dogo, and Ikhana all led their teams to 11 points each. Ilechukwu, whose team played an additional two games in March owing to rearranged fixtures, picked up 14 points.

The LBA will announce winners in both categories this Thursday.
