The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed that the Super Eagles would be persecuting an international friendly against Corsica, a tiny island in France and Burkina Faso as part of the team’s build up for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa.
The Eagles are scheduled to open camp in France in May for the first leg home encounter of the AFCON qualifier against South Africa in Uyo, according to coach Gernot Rohr, the list of players for the South Africa cracker would be released two weeks before camp opens in Paris.
Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, has stated that Coach Rohr wants the Eagles to persecute the friendlies to afford him have first hand assessment of the players that would face South Africa.
He disclosed that all modalities for the success for the camping exercise in France have been concluded. “Eagles would be playing against Corsica national team, a small island in France while camping in the country for the Nations Cup qualifier, talks are also going on for the Eagles to play against Burkina Faso.
“The friendlies, according to Rohr, is to assist him assemble the best players to battle South Africa. It is not confirmed yet if the Eagles camp will on May 23rd in France. Travelling plans for the team to France and players shortlisted will soon be made available to the media,” he said.
