Nigeria striker Olarenwaju Kayode scored his 18th goal in all competitions as he helped Austria Vienna defeat Mattersburg 3-0 away in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday.
Kayode, who was handed a maiden call-up to the Super Eagles last month for the friendly against Senegal, was a handful for the Mattersburg defence throughout the game.
The 23-year-old opened the floodgates with a poacher’s finish in the 21st minute of the game before Alexander Gruenwald made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time.
Vienna’s dominance was emphatic and they went on to score a third goal 15 minutes before time through Pires to wrap up the points.
Austria Vienna are now third on the log with 50 points after 29 matches.
Kayode has scored 11 goals in the league with three assists. He has two goals in the Europa League, three in the Europa League qualifiers and two in the Austrian Cup in a remarkable season for the former Flying Eagles star. © supersport.com
