Rangnick Wants Ten Haag To Succeed Him As Man United Manager

By Daily Sports on January 12, 2022

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick is reportedly pushing for Ajax boss Erik ten Hag to become the English club's next long-term manager.

Rangnick will lead the 20-time English champions for the remainder of the season before stepping into a consultancy role at Old Trafford, and he is expected to have a say on his replacement.

Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino is allegedly the club's preferred choice to become the team's new head coach on a long-term basis.

However, according to Le Parisien, Rangnick favours Ten Hag as his successor, with the German impressed by the 51-year-old's work in Amsterdam.

Ten Hag has been in charge of Ajax since December 2017, leading the club to two Eredivisie titles and two Dutch cups, while the Amsterdam giants starred in the group stages of this season's Champions League, winning all six matches against Besiktas, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon.

The Dutchman's contract with his current club is due to expire in June 2023, and he is allegedly keen to take on the challenge at Man United this summer.

Ten Hag started his managerial career with Go Ahead Eagles, while he was also in charge of Bayern Munich II and Utrecht ahead of a move to the Johan Cruyff Arena. (Sports Mole) •PHOTO: Ten Haag
