Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme could miss the team’s English Championship clash against Cardiff City at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday.
The 30-year-old Nigerian missed the Super Eagles’ recent friendly match with Senegal after picking up a knock during training in London, England.
Wanderers coach Paul Lambert has revealed that his first-choice shot-stopper is being monitored ahead of their clash with City.
“Carl’s got a knock at the minute so we are having to monitor him,” Lambert told Expressandstar.
“We will see how he is. It’s a bit early to say (for the weekend). We will see how it develops and if he is going to be OK.
“In terms of the others who are back, they are all OK. There are still one or two away. Hopefully, they come through their games OK.”
Ikeme, who has been Wanderers’ first-choice keeper for the last five seasons, has made 31 league appearances for the team this season.
Born in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, England, the shot-stopper made his international debut for Nigeria on 5 September 2015. (mtnfootball.com)
