Recuperating Remo Stars striker Victor Mbaoma has said his side have no choice but to win the top-flight clash against newcomers, Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC.
The six-goal hero picked up a left ankle injury in their top-flight matchday 12 clash at Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC in Lagos.
The Sky Blue Stars are hosts of the IIorin outfit in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 13 clash at the Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu.
Mbaoma said it is quite harsh and tough the reality that he will not partake in the crunch clash against ABS FC.
“I was hoping and thinking that I will be 100% fit for the matchday 13 clash against ABS FC on Sunday.
“Unfortunately, it was not to be as I’m asked to hold on for a while before returning to the pitch.
“Honestly, I feel quite bad right now watching my teammates train perfecting match plan for the game.
“I had dreamed of partaking in the clash even now all hands are required to be on deck to pull the team out of the wood.
“I’m not happy, too with our placement on the league table not that we are not playing good football.
“However, we just have to win the clash against ABS FC on Sunday, we need to start winning matches that’s important if we want to remain in the top-flight.
“We cannot draw the match or any other ones that’s the only way we can keep hope alive,” said the Remo Stars marksman to supersport.com.
