As the NPFL/La Liga coaching clinic came to an end on Monday, Mohammed Alkali, the Independent Chairman of the Nationwide League, charged the coaches in the Nationwide League, who took part in the coaching clinic, to make the maximum impact of the knowledge acquired.
Alkali informed the sporting media in Abuja that the partnership between the NPFL and the La Liga is one of the noble things that has happened to the development of football in Nigeria and it is hoped that the coaches will impact the knowledge gained at the coaching clinic to the players in the nationwide league, the league he described as the bedrock of talents in Nigeria football.
“The nationwide league is the bedrock of football talent in Nigeria and I am very happy that we have many coaches in the nationwide league in this coaching clinic and I am very sure that the coaches will beam their search light to discover more football talent and nurture these talents to greater heights after the coaching clinic,” Alkali said.
He added: “You have to make good use of this knowledge. Nigeria Football Federation knows your importance at the grassroots of football development in the country and hopefully more talents will be discovered in the nationwide league by you the coaches and more clubs in the other leagues in Nigeria will continue to demand for their services, the products of the nationwide league.”
In a related development, the amiable chairman of the League Management Company, Mallam Shehu Dikko also commended the coaches for their efforts in the development of players at the grassroots, while also charging them to nurture more players to greatness, worthy to wear the national colours of Nigeria in the nearest future.
“I commend all the coaches present here at the NPFL/La Liga coaching clinic course. Coaches at the grassroots of football development in Nigeria are very important in the country and that is why this coaching clinic is very essential and our expectations is to see players that are discovered by you the coaches play for the Super Eagles within the next three to five years and possibly ply their trades in the top leagues in the world,” Dikko said.
The NPFL/La Liga coaching clinic involved over 100 Nigerian youth coaches, of which 60 of them are from the Nationwide League in Nigeria. (thenff.com)
