Federer to continue playing till 2019

 Swiss legend Roger Federer is set to extend his playing career for at least three more years.

The 2017 Australian Open champion has extended his contract has extended his contract at the Swiss Indoors in Basel meaning he could continue playing till 2019.

A statement from the Swiss Tennis Federation read, “The times of the tense relationship between the Swiss Indoors and Roger Federer are over. Federer and the Swiss Indoors conclude a three-year contract by 2019.

“The Basel organisers are “boundless enthusiasm” thanks to the new contract. Finally. The contract between the Swiss Indoors and Federer runs until 2019”

Federer in January became the first man in history to win five or more titles at three different Grand Slam events – five Australian Opens, five US Opens and seven Wimbledon.

He has 18 Grand Slams, the highest in male tennis. (TV360 Nigeria)
