Ike Sunday Jonas Chinedu is an under-rated football prodigy whose intelligence on the ball on the pitch reminds one of the active days of football artist and former Super Eagles Captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha. As a utility player who specialises in attacking role, Ike shows capacity in that vital department in the field of play, little wonder therefore, coaches place great premium on his ability to deliver successfully. A natural attacker who packs bullets in his right leg, which make defenders of opposing teams green with envy hence he becomes targets for the kill. His route of escape has been his deep sense of the game which has often times shielded him from their dangerous traps during matches.
A 1.70 metres height player who weighs 68 kg played in Julius Berger FC youth team, Felan Stars FC, from where he travelled to Ghana to lace his boots for the famous Youths Stars FC of Ghana. It was his exploits while in the Ghanaian Youth Stars squad that the eagle eyes of scouts discovered his dare devil nature in the round leather game, hence he was recruited into FC Bakili of Azerbaijan, Baku where he played for the premiership side and made his mark enduringly also.

It would be recalled that before he jetted out, he was invited to Nigeria’s U-17 team in 2003 before he was dropped on the eve when the team was to travel for the tournament. The young player who has gathered experience like a rolling stone has in his kitty, football achievements such as League trophy with Julius Berger FC youth side, League Champs with Youth Stars FC of Ghana, Two-time Man of the Match Award with Bakili FC of Azerbaijan Baku.
The player has strong technical skills, excellent ball control, dribbling skills and his aerial finishing remains deadly and clinical. He knows the tenets, and what it entails to be a team player. It is instructive to note his sense of responsibility to place rule to measure killer passes to any teammate at the advantage of scoring which gave him some nods ahead his pairs. He plays matured football above his age, such points to his superb mental alertness coupled with his high level of concentration while on duty; his sense of anticipation is also highly rated.
An impressive mobile and humble player, Sunday Ike, a fast budding young attacker who has carved a niche for himself could readily be likened to one of the players that eat, drink, sleep and dream football, ever ready to always give it his best shot. His uncanny positioning on the pitch creates lots of scoring chances for his teammates final passes and breathes taking finishing him makes hotly chased by the opposition. His level of calmness while his team is under pressure singles him out as a player ahead his time. Generally, he is easily adaptable to any situation. He is currently in talks with a premiership team in Northern Ireland, Belfast Linfield FC.
According to him, the representative of the club has been on his heels. However, while speaking with Daily Sports during the week, he added that he will be ready to play for any team that would be ready for his services without any hesitation.
