‘3SC not aiming for NPFL title’

By Daily Sports on February 3, 2017

Amoo says it’s impossible to expect the club to win the title and believes fans of the club should be pleased if they escape relegation this term.

“I am a realist and I don’t need to deceive anybody.

“If my management will want to sack me for saying the truth, I will prefer that (to lying).

“For now, we (3SC) can’t say we want to win the league but we want to do well.

“And doing well means we don’t want to be relegated.

“Whatever comes (if we don’t get relegated will be seen as a bonus) and we will take it,” he told supersport.com.

Amoo then discussed the prospect of his side in their next NPFL game against Rivers United on Sunday in Ibadan.

The gaffer spoke about his respect for the Port Harcourt side but said there will no talk of fear from his charges when they come up against the highly-rated ‘Pride of Rivers’.

“They are a top side; a very strong side and we respect them.

“They have not lost a single game in the league this season, enjoy a huge financing backing and will represent Nigeria in the Caf Champions League.

All these are formidable credentials but on Sunday, it will be 11 men coming up against 11 men and I am confident we can hold our own against them,” he said.

3SC is currently one place from bottom in the 20-team NPFL with four points from their first five matches. (supersport.com)
