Chuba Akpom says his goal is to show coach Chris Hughton and Brighton and Hove Albion fans what he is capable of doing.
The Nigerian joined the Seagulls till the end of the season having found it very tough to break into Arsene Wenger’s star-studded Arsenal squad.
However, the 22-year-old keen to impress at the Falmer Stadium.
“It’s always good to play with another striker, you can bounce off each other and there’s more support than usual. There’s always going to be competition and it keeps the team strong,’’ Akpom told club website.
“They’re all experienced players and they know how to play in this league. It’s going to be good to learn from them, and we’ve all got something different to offer.
“The main thing for me now is impress the boss here and show my teammates and the fans what I can do. That's my main aim.
“It’s a good club and everyone knows the Championship is a tough league with a lot of games, as it’s very competitive and unpredictable. In this division you just have to get your head down and take each game as it comes.
“The team is flying high sitting top of the league and you can see that they’ve got the winning mentality and are playing the right football. I just want to be a positive addition to the team and help boost the side to promotion.”
Akpom will make his debut when Brighton visit Huddersfield at the John Smith's Stadium on Thursday. (goal.com)
