The Nigeria international continued his goalscoring form in China as Chen Jingang’s men suffered a second consecutive loss

Odion Ighalo was on the scoresheet as Changchun Yatai succumbed 5-2 to Jiangsu Suning in Saturday’s Chinese Super League game.

In his 24th appearance this season, the 29-year-old registered his 18th goal of the season from the penalty spot in the 68th minute.

Chen Jingang’s men started the game on an uninspiring note with Jie Sun turning the ball into his own net in the 13th minute.

Alex Teixeira got the second for the visitors in the 27th minute. Pengfei Xie then added the third before Ighalo converted from the penalty spot for the home team.

In the 75th minute, the Changchun Stadium outfit were reduced to ten men after Rui Yu got his second booking.

Eder then scored twice for Cosmin Olaroiu’s side within ten minutes before Yufeng Xiao got the second for Yatai.

The defeat leaves them in the eighth spot in the league standings with 29 points from 24 games.

Ighalo, scorer of 18 goals in 24 league outings this season, will be hoping to continue the impressive form when Changchun Yatai clash with John Obi Mikel’s Tianjin Teda on October 6.
